Full title : The Canadian Soldier
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Canadian Expeditionary Force arrived in France with an infantry division in February 1915. Two months later, the Canadians were subjected to the first combat gas attack. In 1916, they were faced with the slaughter of the Somme, followed by the Arras offensive the following spring. Their feat of arms in the capture of Vimy Ridge was a fundamental moment for the young nation, which saw its four divisions fighting together for the first time. In 1918, the reputation of the Canadian soldiers was such that they were used as shock troops and participated in all the battles until the end of the conflict.
