Soviet Komintern Artillery Tractor
EASY MODEL 35118
Scale 1:72
Period: WWII
Country: USSR
In search of a new heavy artillery tractor in the early 1930s, Red Army officials combined the suspension of the T12 tank with the cab of the ZiS-5 truck. The result was the ‘Komintern’ tractor, equipped with a 131 hp 4-cylinder engine, capable of reaching a speed of 30 km/h, with a range of 220 km and capable of towing the 18-tonne B-4 howitzer as well as a range of heavy artillery. In 1940, production ceased after approximately 1,800 units had been delivered, and the tractor was replaced by the more modern Voroshilovez.
