The USS Abraham Lincoln (SSBN-602) belonged to the first generation of the nuclear driven rocket submarines of the US Navy. As part of the Polaris program, it contributed significantly to the maritime deterrent strategy during the Cold War. With a length of 116 meters and armed with 16 polaris rockets, she patrolled in the world's oceans for decades and secured the strategic balance between East and West.
