The Preobrazhensky Regiment (Russian: Преображенский лейб-гвардии полк) or Transfiguration Regiment is the oldest and one of the most prestigious regiments of the Russian Imperial Guard. It is intimately linked with the history of the emergence of the Russian Empire from the late 17th to the 19th century. As such, it carries a strong symbolic charge.
During the 18th and 19th centuries, membership was reserved for young Russian aristocrats who had demonstrated loyalty to the imperial government and the Tsar. Disbanded in December 1917, its name was restored in April 2013 to the 154th Regiment separated from the Preobrazhensky Command (Russian: 154-й отдельный комендантский Преображенский полк).
